“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” Nelson Mandela

#ItIsInYourHands

In this spirit, Nelson Mandela Day calls on everyone to take action and inspire change.

At Dube & Pottas Inc., we are proud to participate in this global movement by dedicating our time and skills to make a positive impact in our communities.

Acts of Service by Our Social Workers

This year, on Nelson Mandela Day, our dedicated team of Social Workers will be engaging in various acts of service across different regions. Each region has chosen an organisation within their community to support, ensuring our efforts are meaningful and impactful.

Johannesburg North Region

The Johannesburg North team will be volunteering at Park Care Retirement Village. They will participate in a Djembe drumming session with the residents, creating a joyful and interactive experience. Following the drumming session, the team will assist in serving lunch, offering their support and companionship to the residents.

Netcare Rehabilitation

The Netcare Rehabilitation Social Workers will visit Woodside Sanctury, a home for the intellectually disabled. They have planned the following activities:

Stimulation Department: Rebounding and Nail care

Physiotherapy Department: Massage and stretching on the mats

School Department: Tracing and colouring activities.

Afterwards they will all be at the TV room for some sing along and kiddies shows whilst having snacks in between.

Pretoria Region

The Pretoria region will visit Glen Haven Retirement Village to engage a group of 25 residents in psychological and card games. They will also treat the residents with some homemade cupcakes!

East Rand Region

The East Rand Region will be handing out coffee, tea and bread to children living on the street.

Our Social Worker, Ayanda Mazibuko, will present bravery certificates and toiletry packs to the transplant and oncology children at Donald Gordon Hospital.

How You Can Get Involved?

We encourage everyone to join us in making a difference.

Here are a few ways you can contribute:

Every small act of kindness counts, and together, we can build a better world.
